I had this printed in the local newspaper as an open letter to my wife.  It still says what I feel, as will it always.
Diane Johnson,
Happy 40th Birthday!  I am enormously happy that you have chosen to spend the rest of our lives together.  The last seventeen years of marriage to you have been the very best of my life and have brought me great joy and happiness.  You are an exceptional woman and I am honored by your love.  Through the years, you have taught me trust and faith.

In my quest for the meaning of life, I have found that the only purpose I will ever need is to make you happy and safe.

I have decided to print this to let everyone know that even in this troubled world, great beauty and joy can be found.  I apologize if this embarrasses you.  But I want everyone to know that I love you.  I love you for who you are;  for the way you live your life.

I love you for the way you teach children. I admire you and have great respect for you.

You are the song in my heart and the music in my life.  Thank you for all you have shared with me and all the dreams we have yet to realize.

Forever and Allways,
Your husband, Dennis Johnson
